Vincent Pocsik
Vincent Pocsik is an American artist who lives and works in LA. He holds a master's degree from Southern California Institute of Architecture in Los Angeles.
Vincent's work balances old and new fabrication techniques to breathe new life into materials while holding onto the richness of the past. This process is influenced by the desire to push the formal boundaries of mediums such as wood, glass and metal so each work transforms into an anatomical expression and presence of it's own.
PASITHEA - Laminated and carved solid black walnut and maple created using a technique the artist has developed in his studio which is a combination of digital fabrication and hand carving. The finish is created through layering of paint and burning. The finish is more an act of painting where mistakes are welcomed, then it is of a desired finished product.
